Horses have been part of the Schörhof for as long as we can remember, and we love sharing that passion with you. At our own riding stables, you’ll learn to ride where the animals feel at home: with personal guidance and surrounded by the nature of the Saalach Valley. And once you’ve been in the saddle with us, you’ll love to come back.

Sonja grew up at the Schörhof and lives for horses. As an Austrian national champion and multiple regional champion, she knows exactly what matters and shares her knowledge with great patience and heart. Everyone is welcome in her riding lessons: from complete beginners to confident riders with a secure seat.

Turned her hobby into a profession out of love for horses

I love working with animals, and horses in particular have truly captured my heart. I have four Haflingers of my own and turned my hobby into my profession.

Our riding stables offer the right environment for every skill level. And because the weather is never an issue here, nothing stands in the way of a riding experience all year round.

Our riding arena

On our outdoor riding arena, you can practise with mountain views and fresh air on your face. Every lap feels twice as wonderful here when the sun shines over the Steinernes Meer.
Our indoor riding hall

You can enjoy animal adventures with us all year round. Our weatherproof indoor riding hall right next to the hotel makes riding a pleasure even on rainy days.
Our trail-riding area

Confident riders can enjoy trail rides through the beautiful Saalachtal landscape, framed by the mountains of the Steinernes Meer. At a gentle pace through forests and meadows, you will experience the peace of Pinzgau nature from a truly special perspective.

Happy animals at our riding stables

Lots of time outdoors and spacious grassy pastures for the herd

Happy horses are the foundation of beautiful riding experiences, which is why we give our animals plenty of attention. Our favorites spend lots of time outdoors, move and relax together in the herd, and have plenty of space on spacious grassy pastures.

Right next door is the Reidinggut, our organic farm, where sheep, pigs, and chickens also have a wonderful home. For us, this mindful way of caring for our animals is not a concept, but part of everyday life.
